This is Highland Park for crying out loud. A neighborhood that’s prestigious. Why in the world the young man at the hot bar is using his phone with his gloves on then want to serve me with the same glove? Ridiculous. Your phone is the most dirtiness item, considering we all take our phones to the bathroom. Never ever will I set foot into this location again. He should not be working there if he’s going to look me in the eye and say “hold on I have to send this message”. If it’s that important you take your glove off and you step to the back and send your message.

Stopped into this location for the first time tonight. I moved to the area a few months ago and have religiously shopped at Sunset Foods because of how close it is to me. Well tonight they were closed and I stopped into this Jewel. Not knowing the store layout, I asked an employee named Rick where to find a deli item. Rick not only stopped everything he was doing to address me directly, but he walked me all the way across the store to the item as well. As someone who spent half of his career in a customer facing sales position, it is a breath of fresh air to see someone with a true understanding of how to deal with customers. I have been to Sunset Foods around 3 times a week for multiple months and never thought to leave them a review. Simply because their employees never came close to "wow"ing me. A 2 minute interaction is all it takes to win over a customer, and in a world full of choices at the tips of our fingers, that interaction is more important than it has ever been. Thank you to Rick at Jewel for understanding this simple yet commonly lost concept. You have earned Jewel a well paying customer from here on out. Give this guy a raise!

Good selection, spacious, clean, and productive staff! Everyone seemed to be busy organizing merchandise but was friendly and helpful when I needed help. I liked that it wasn't crowded at all (weekday afternoon). It was also nice to see a lot of the customers were still wearing masks (I'm fully vaccinated and not anti-vax in any way, but it's nice to see people being cautious)

I’m not too particular about this location, especially the bakery section. There always seems to be an issue. I tried to place an order for a cake and was flat out told that they are not taking any orders due to them not having a decorator. So what are the other workers doing???? Why not place a sign stating that they are unable to take cake orders due to them not having a cake decorator??? On top of that, the customer service is terrible and clearly they don’t want to be bothered!!!! Do better!!!!
